Local attractions include the beautiful River Dee which runs through the centre of the town, which regularly hosts major international canoeing events.

The tranquility of the canal can be enjoyed by taking a ride on a horse-drawn boat. The Steam Railway provides another form of transport chugging along the Dee Valley with Thomas the Tank Engine being a regular visitor to keep the younger members of the family happy!

Castell Dinas Bran has overlooked the town since sometime in the 1260s ,although a ruin it is well worth a visit to experience the breathtaking views from the summit!

If you prefer something less energetic why not wander along the River Dee to Riverside Park where all ages are catered for - Crazy Golf, Childrens Playground, Mini Football Pitch and Skateboard Park.

Plas Newydd -home to the " Ladies of Llangollen" is also worth a visit as is Valle Cruis Abbey.

The beautiful roman city of Chester is within 40 mins drive which offers shopping, restaurants, cinema, museums, and of course the famous 'Roodee; which hosts "Chester Races" throughout the spring and summer months.
